Whale Watching Hermanus

Between May and December, the annual migration of the Southern Right Whale sees the ocean surrounding the cape becomes a teeming playground for these giant beasts of the deep. Betty’s Bay lies directly on the Overberg whale coast, a stretch of coastline which boasts the best place in the world for land-based whale watching. The whales come right close to the shore, often within 50m, and seeing them frolic about is thrilling.
